Club Campestre

Club Campestre San José is a 550-acre master-planned community set in the rolling foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, positioned between downtown San José del Cabo and the Sea of Cortez. Its 18-hole Nicklaus Design golf course, inaugurated in 2007 as the first course in the world to use saltwater-resistant Paspalum grass, anchors a community of seven distinct residential neighborhoods, a private beach club, and a lifestyle calibrated for buyers who want proximity to a genuine city without sacrificing the privacy of a gated enclave. Among all Los Cabos golf communities, Club Campestre offers one of the closest connections to authentic San José del Cabo.

Lifestyle

The Nicklaus Design golf course is the organizing principle of Club Campestre: 18 holes laid across the natural terrain of the Sierra de la Laguna foothills, with panoramic Sea of Cortez views from every hole and a course design that uses the desert's arroyos and elevation changes as natural hazards. The use of Paspalum grass, chosen for its salt-water tolerance and performance in Baja's conditions, keeps the course in exceptional shape year-round in a climate that challenges most turf. Off the course, residents are five minutes from downtown San José del Cabo's gallery district, weekly art walk, and some of the most accomplished restaurants in Los Cabos. The community also maintains a private 32,000 sq ft beach club on the Sea of Cortez coastline, with pools, a restaurant, bar, jacuzzi, and fire pit: a full beach facility that gives the community genuine coastal character despite its inland hillside setting.

Access & Setting

Club Campestre sits in the foothills above San José del Cabo, with the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains rising behind the community and the city and Sea of Cortez below. The location is genuinely urban-adjacent: downtown San José is five minutes by car, the marina at Puerto Los Cabos is five minutes in the other direction, and Los Cabos International Airport is 15 minutes away. This combination of mountain terrain, city proximity, and airport convenience is unusual in the Los Cabos luxury real estate market, where most gated communities trade one of those attributes for another. The community is fully gated with 24-hour security. Its hillside position means elevations vary meaningfully across the seven neighborhoods, with homes at the top of La Cima offering commanding views over the city and estuary to the sea, while lower neighborhoods enjoy more immediate golf course frontage.

Amenities & Buyer Fit

Club Campestre's amenity program includes the Nicklaus Design golf course with pro shop and practice facilities, the private 32,000 sq ft beach club, tennis courts, a clubhouse with dining and event programming, and golf cart connectivity throughout the community. The beach club hosts weekly social events including Sunday brunch and Friday happy hours that give the community a genuine social calendar year-round. Seven residential neighborhoods offer meaningfully different ownership experiences across the 550-acre site. La Jolla is the community's largest and most active segment by MLS volume, with a mix of single-family homes and condominiums appealing to a broad buyer profile. Los Valles, positioned along the 17th and 18th fairways, offers golf-front single-family homes with strong sea views. La Cima occupies the hilltop with the most commanding panoramic views in the community. Pueblo Campestre is the community's current active-development neighborhood: hacienda-style homes on cobblestone lanes with terracotta roofs, shaded courtyards, and handcrafted details that give it the warmest architectural character in the development.
