Hillside beachfront community with Sea of Cortez views, La Jolla, San José Corridor, Los Cabos

San José Corridor · Los Cabos

La Jolla

La Jolla is a beachfront condominium community on the San José Corridor, positioned directly above San José Beach and the Costa Azul surf break at the point where the Corridor transitions into the city of San José del Cabo. It is a different kind of Los Cabos luxury real estate address from the large master-planned golf communities nearby: smaller in scale, more urban in feel, and oriented around direct access to one of the most active stretches of San José coastline. For buyers seeking a well-priced beachfront condo within walking distance of downtown San José del Cabo's restaurant and gallery scene, La Jolla occupies a distinct and practical position in the market.

Lifestyle

La Jolla sits directly above the Costa Azul surf break, the most consistent and well-known wave in the Los Cabos area and a focal point for the surfing community that gathers along this stretch of the San José Corridor. For residents who surf, it is an unrivaled address. For those who don't, the beach below is wide, scenic, and uncrowded relative to Medano, offering a calmer alternative to the social energy of Cabo San Lucas. The community is positioned at the point where the Corridor opens into the city, so downtown San José del Cabo's gallery district, weekly art walk, and restaurant scene are within a ten-minute walk or a very short drive. The La Jolla Shopping Center sits immediately adjacent to the community, providing day-to-day retail, dining, and services at a convenience that most Corridor communities, set back from city infrastructure, cannot match.

Access & Setting

La Jolla sits at the San José end of the Corridor, at the intersection of the Transpeninsular Highway (Mex-1) and the beginning of the San José del Cabo urban zone. The community occupies a hillside position above San José Beach, with views over the coastline and the Sea of Cortez. Its location is genuinely walkable to city services in a way most Corridor communities are not: the La Jolla Shopping Center is steps from the entrance, and downtown San José del Cabo is reachable on foot for residents inclined to make the walk. Los Cabos International Airport is approximately 15 minutes by car, one of the shortest transfers available from any beachfront address in the region. The community is gated with security, and the adjacent commercial zone provides supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, and banking without requiring highway access.

Amenities & Buyer Fit

La Jolla's amenity program includes swimming pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, and direct beach access to San José Beach and the Costa Azul break below. The community's hillside position provides consistent sea views from most units, and the adjacent La Jolla Shopping Center effectively extends the amenity footprint with restaurants, cafes, and services on the community's doorstep. The MLS reflects a pure condominium community across 241 historical records, all Property Type A (attached/condo). Active inventory ranges from studios and one-bedroom units at the more accessible end of the market to three-bedroom residences with full sea views. The price range makes La Jolla one of the most accessible beachfront addresses in the Los Cabos luxury real estate market, and its location at the Corridor-city boundary, combined with the airport proximity and Costa Azul beach access, gives it a strong rental appeal that sustains consistent short-term occupancy for owners who manage their units.
