Dramatic hillside community above a rugged Pacific coastline at sunset, Pedregal, Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos

Cabo San Lucas · Los Cabos

Pedregal

Pedregal de Cabo San Lucas is the oldest and most established gated community in the city, a hillside enclave that has defined the upper end of Cabo San Lucas real estate for more than four decades. Its position is singular: the mountain rises directly from the Pacific shoreline at the westernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, giving the community simultaneous views of the open ocean, Cabo San Lucas Bay, the marina, and the famous Land's End rock formation. No other community in Los Cabos luxury real estate offers this particular convergence of dramatic topography, proximity to a major city, and direct access to private beach.

Lifestyle

Pedregal's lifestyle is defined by the tension between seclusion and access that few communities anywhere manage to sustain. Residents are physically above Cabo San Lucas: the homes climb the mountainside in tiers, each with views that shift from marina-facing to ocean-facing depending on position. Yet the marina, downtown restaurants, and the beach are all within walking distance for much of the community. It is a genuinely urban form of luxury living, grounded in a natural setting that happens to be one of the most dramatic on the Baja Peninsula. The private Pedregal Beach, accessible only to residents, provides a sheltered Pacific-side shoreline that serves as a quieter counterpart to the energy of Medano. The community also maintains hiking trails through the hillside terrain, a spa, fitness center, tennis courts, and a yoga studio, giving residents a complete range of on-site activity without needing to leave the gates.

Access & Setting

Pedregal occupies the rocky hillside immediately west of Cabo San Lucas's marina district, rising from street level to significant elevation above the Pacific on the peninsula's southwestern tip. The marina gate entrance sits less than five minutes' walk from the heart of Cabo's restaurant and nightlife corridor, making Pedregal one of the few luxury gated communities in Los Cabos where leaving the car at home is a genuine option. The Pacific-side gate provides direct access toward Pedregal Beach and the quieter residential streets above it. Los Cabos International Airport is approximately 45 minutes by car, a longer transfer typical of Cabo San Lucas addresses. Within the community, 24-hour security, a private desalination water supply, and underground utility infrastructure set a high baseline for ownership reliability. The mountain terrain generates significant variation in setting across the development, from walkable marina-side streets to remote cliffside homesites.

Amenities & Buyer Fit

Community amenities include the private Pedregal Beach club, spa, fitness center, yoga studio, tennis courts, hiking trails, and 24-hour gated security with a dedicated desalination plant. The community's own internal road network, scenic overlooks, and park connect the hillside neighborhoods. The breadth of Pedregal's residential offering is wider than any other community in Cabo San Lucas. Pedregal CSL is the primary custom villa and estate tier, the largest segment by inventory, spanning the full hillside from marina-adjacent streets to exposed Pacific cliffside positions. Pedregal Heights occupies the summit, with the most commanding panoramic views in all of Los Cabos. The Mountain Club at Pedregal is a newer boutique enclave of contemporary architecturally designed homes within the community. Waldorf Astoria Residences Pedregal brings branded luxury hospitality to a collection of hillside residences with hotel amenity access. For buyers who want condominium ownership within the gates, Cascadas, Montemar, Monteluna, Blue Bay, and Pedregal Towers each offer distinct price points, view orientations, and ownership profiles.
